What EGNATON stands for
- smaller life cycle costs, extended life cycles, and smaller insurance premiums,
- an increase in the value of the real estate, higher productivity,
- an improved image of the laboratory technology,
- reduced operator risks, location security,
- positive influences on the health of the users,
- reduced effects on cultural environment, environment and local structures and
preservation of resources.
The initiative obtains a paradigm shift in the public acknowledgement of laboratory sciences, chemical and pharmaceutical industry and life sciences.
Identity and culture
EGNATON is a European association and does not base on existing national bodies. To strengthen the objectives of EGNATON and accelerate the proceedings, we necessarily bundle the European interests in one organisation. EGNATON will work on a balanced representation of European countries and their habits.
EGNATON will not support the establishment of mirror organisations but shall collaborate with different national organisations obliged to sustainability.
EGNATON language is English. However, the website and any literature may show other languages.
EGNATON is based upon the German laws for associations. It operates according to democratic rules. The bodies are obliged to work on a unanimous vote.
Constitution and Bodies
The association EGNATON e.V., founded in 2009 according to German association law, has slightly more than 100 members, who elect their president, the praesidium and the board of directors at the general meeting. See the box on the right.
The members of the Executive Board, including the two Managing Directors, are responsible externally in the sense of § 26 of the German Civil Code (BGB). Therefore, the two managing directors have an exclusive right of representation for the association within the scope of their statutory duties.
The statutes of the association (GER, ENG) regulate details.
Membership and members
The attractiveness of European locations for scientists worldwide is strongly related to the fact that in Europe, sustainability is also beginning to prevail in the planning, construction, and operation of research and laboratory buildings. EGNATON members are following this spirit.
Some of these companies are global players, some are on their way there, and others have more European, national or regional significance. What they all have in common, however, is a particular commitment to sustainability.
If your company wants to support EGNATON's sustainability goals, too, we would be glad if you would join us as a member or sponsor our association. Please talk to us.
